Cindy is an admitted attorney, who studied law at the University of the Witwatersrand between 2002 and 2006. In 2004, she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, with her majors in Law and International Relations. In 2006, she completed her LLB (Law) degree, cum laude. She then joined Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc. (ENS), the largest law firm in Africa, as an articled clerk. She worked in the Corporate Commercial department, in a team headed by some of South Africa’s top legal minds.

Whilst completing articles, Cindy obtained certificates in Advanced Company Law I and II from the University of the Witwatersrand. After completing her articles at ENS, she was offered a position as an associate in the same Corporate Commercial team at ENS, which she occupied for another 2 years.

During this time, Cindy gained extensive expertise in the fields of general corporate commercial practice, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property law and media law.

Her clients included large listed mining houses, banks, various trusts, various medical aids and other large corporate entities. During this time, Cindy was offered a position as Chief Legal Officer of a holding company which is listed on the Alternative Exchange (AltX) of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, which operates in the industrial engineering sector. She accepted the position, which meant starting up the legal department for the holding company and approximately 15 subsidiaries. As Chief Legal Officer, she was part of the management team, which makes decisions in relation to the entire group of companies.

In November 2011, Cindy opened CL Legal Consulting, a consulting business which offers a combination of legal and business expertise gained during her tenure in the aforementioned positions. Her clients include various industrial engineering businesses, events companies, PR /advertising agencies, IT Companies and other corporate and individual clients.
